Programming & Curation

Along with Olivia Bellas, I co-designed and delivered 14 events as part of the Greater London Authority’s Future of Participation programme (Feb - Sept 23). This programme explored community engagement approaches that place communities at the heart of decision-making, bringing together community activists, social action leaders, artists, academics, researchers, policymakers, and educators. Some of the highlights included:

• “How do we go beyond the tick-box exercises on participatory research and evaluation?” featuring presentations from Chicago Beyond on their toolkit ‘Why am I always being researched’, Dr Xia Lin (founder of Participatory Action Research at Toynbee Hall), and Tammy Mudge (Manager of Learning and Evaluation at Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk-Halifax).

• A session on the Queer Muslim Project and a disability-led campaign organisation offering practical advice on how policymakers can engage with online communities.

• BME Volunteers leading a Walk & Talk around Glyndon, addressing the lack of accessible green spaces for Black disabled communities.

Associate Curator for Cutura Inglesa Festival in Brazil on the edition of the 2022 festival. Working with the senior management team providing advice regarding their long term strategic development as well as providing curational input and supporting their partnership development.(Aug 21 - May 22)
